Deluxe Bedford®は、1960年代を思わせるオリジナル・オフセット・ボディー・シェイプが特徴で、ネック側にスタックドのシングル・コイル、リアにエスカッションを用いてハムバッカー・ピックアップを搭載したモデルです。
ディアンジェリコらしさを感じるオリジナル形状のピックガードは、fホールの一部を思わせるデザインで、5プライのトータス・シェル柄となっています。
ヘッドストックとネック(4プライ)にはバインディングが装飾され、マザー・オブ・パール/アバロンの存在感のあるスプリット・ブロック・ポジションマーカーと組み合わせたデザインはシックでゴージャスな印象を与えます。
ボディーは軽量なスワンプ・アッシュ、メイプル&ウォールナットの3ピース・ネックにパーフェロー・フィンガーボードといったウッド・マテリアルを用いています。
24.75インチのスケールを採用し、ネックはメイプルの間にウォールナットを挟んだ反りや捻じれに強い3ピース構造です。
また、ネック・ジョイントは独自のヒールレス設計で、スルー・ネックのようにボディーの奥(フロント・ピックアップ全体をカバーする位置）までネックを到達させることで接着面積を広く取り、ハイフレットでの演奏性と強度を併せ持った「セット・スルー」ネック・ジョイントとなっています。
さらに、デュアル・アクションのトラスロッドを搭載し、ヘッド側で調整するようになっています。
特徴的なヘッドストック・デザインはディアンジェリコの伝統を継承しています。
トラスロッド・カバーはアルミニウム製で、1930年頃にニューヨークで流行したアール・デコ建築(エンパイア・ステート・ビルディングなど)が建ち並ぶニューヨークの摩天楼にインスパイアされた存在感のあるデザインです。
ネック・ピックアップはスタックドのUSAセイモア・ダンカンDA-59シングル・コイルSTKを、ブリッジ・ピックアップはオープン・タイプのUSAセイモア・ダンカンDA-59ハムバッカーを搭載しています。
コントロールは2ヴォリューム、2トーン、3ウェイ・ピックアップ・セレクターのレイアウトで、各ピックアップのトーンはコイル・スプリットのプッシュ・プル・スイッチを兼ねており、トータルで8通りのコイルの組み合わせを備えています。
ハードウェアはゴールドで統一し、チューニングの安定を実現したグローバーのスーパー・ロトマティック・ロッキング・マシンヘッド、チューンOマティック&ストップ・バー・テイルピースの仕様です。
カラーはナチュラル・スワンプ・アッシュです。

【ブランド・ヒストリー】
ディアンジェリコは、1932年米国ニューヨーク州ニューヨーク市のリトル・イタリーにて小さなギター・ショップからスタートした。
ブランド創始者のジョン・ディアンジェリコの手による少量生産のギター・ブランドで、サウンドと丁寧なつくりによる造形美を兼ね備え、多くのギタリストから称賛されるギターを世に送り出した。
ディアンジェリコのアーチトップ・ギターは20世紀の傑作と言われるほどであったが、ジョンは1964年に59歳という短い生涯を閉じることになる。
その後はディアンジェリコ・ブランドとして長い冬の時代を迎えることとなった。
世界規模でゆるぎない地位を築いたジョンが築いた意匠や信念を受け継ぎ、そのディアンジェリコ・ブランドの名に恥じないギターを作るべく、2011年にディアンジェリコを復活させるプロジェクトがニューヨークでスタートした。
ディアンジェリコは米国にて、伝統に縛られない新たなユーザー層を取り込んだソリッド・ギターの領域まで開拓し、モデルを次々に発表し、飛躍的なスピードでファンを増やしている。
