潜水艦の乗員用として採用された通称「サブマリナーコート」は、1941年には米海軍によって発行されたユニフォーム・レギュレーションに既に掲載されていました。上質なウールを用いて目の詰まった一重のヘリンボーン組織で織り上げられたコートは防寒性にも優れていました。チンストラップでスタンドカラーにもなる比較的大きめ襟と、2つのフラップ付きのパッチポケットを持つ外観は、無駄を極限まで削ぎ落とした洗練されたデザインを有しています。ピーコートやデッキジャケットに通じるシンプルなデザインと必要最低限の機能性を兼ね備えたこの旧き良き時代のコートは、米海軍のこだわりとプライドが伺えるウールコートです。
この製品は、そのサブマリナーコートの復刻モデルです。
素材はウール100%の目の詰まったヘリンボーン組織で織り上げられた霜降り感のあるメルトン生地です。高密度で厚手の30オンスヘビーウェイトウールメルトンは、しっかりとしたボリューム感があり、冬場には風を防いでくれ保温性・防寒性もあります。ウールを圧縮した、毛羽だった素材で、着込むほどに生地が馴染み風合いを増していきます。また、裏地の付かない一重のパイピング仕上げなので、モコモコ感が軽減され、スッキリとした着用感になります。
フロントはシングルブレストの6つボタンによる開閉式です。ボタンにはMIL規格の4つ穴尿素ボタンが使用されています。
衿は折り返し衿としてもスタンドカラーとしても使える両用仕様です。左衿にはボタン留めのチンストラップが装着されています。襟を立て(スタンドカラーにして)、チンストラップを右衿裏のボタンに固定することで首元から寒気が侵入するのを防ぐようにされています。チンストラップを使用しないときには邪魔にならないように左衿裏のボタンに留めておくこともできます。
両ウエストにはボタン留めのフラップポケットが備え付けられています。ポケットフラップの裏は補強のためにコットンシーチング生地で切り替えられています。

This jacket is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson ( Buzz Ricksons Buzz Rickson"s ) by Toyo Enterprises. Body pattern is a reproduction of the US Navy winter woolen submariner coat (Submarine Jacket). And this coat is made of 30 oz. (30-ounce) single ply and unlined melton-wool fabric. And this wool jacket is cut to Modern Fit with hip length for a more fashion-forward looks than Classic Fit. This wool coat is new creations by Buzz Rickson by Toyo Enterprises from Japan.

Outer shell : Made of 100% wool 30 oz. (30-ounce) single ply and unlined melton-wool fabric in charcoal color that is thick and soft brushed and napped. It combines the toughness and the natural softness for comfort. The more you wear the more fabric will continue to get softer and cozier. 
Lining shell for body and sleeve : Unlined. Great for wearing mid-season or even in the winter with under layering. 
Types of garment closure (Placket type) : 6 buttons on front opening featuring Mil Specs Urea buttons. 
Collar : Convertible Collar. Collar with throat latch can be worn spread or standing. A convertible stand-up collar with button closure throat latch (throat tab neck strap chin strap throat latch) to make fastening easy with a button. Throat latch that when fastened will help throat chilling winds from entering the jacket neck area. You can also hide a neck strap (a chin strap a throat tab) with throat tab keeper button underneath collar when you do not use a throat tab. 
Cuff type : Unbanded cuffs for full range of motion. 
Storage : The jacket has two exterior pockets. Two flap pockets with button closure on the lower front section of the jacket. The pocket flap is lined with cotton broadcloth fabric. 
Style : Mens Casual Fashion / Vintage Military Style.
