東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)のTailor Toyo(テーラー東洋テイラー東洋)ブランドのスカジャン(メンズスーベニアジャケット)です。
スーベニアジャケット、通称「スカジャン」は戦後間もない頃、日本に駐留していたアメリカ軍兵士の記念品として、鷲・虎・龍などのオリエンタルな柄や、兵士の所属していた部隊などをジャケットに刺繍したのが始まりです。その発祥に関わったのが、東洋エンタープライズの前身である港商(港商商会)です。「テーラー東洋」は1940年代の港商から始まり、1965年に設立された東洋エンタープライズのスカジャンレーベルして、その歴史と経験を継承し続けています。
この製品は、ビンテージスカジャンのデザインをベースに、テーラー東洋によってタウンユース用にリプロタクションされたスカジャンです。アセテートサテンを使用したリバーシブルのスカジャンで両面に刺繍が配されています。デザインは龍の頭部のみを細部まで描写した通称「ドラゴンヘッド」と呼ばれる作品の復刻です。長く伸びた髭や躍動感あふれる鬣(たてがみ)など、横振り刺繍で繊細に描かれています。リバーシブル面は単色で刺繍された日本地図の絵柄です。戦後当時、日本の刺繍職人はアルファベットに慣れていなかったことから「KYOTO」が「KYOIO」と記されており、このような地名のスペルミスなどもヴィンテージをもとに忠実に再現されています。
素材は表裏両面共にアセテート100%のサテン生地です。シルクにような深みのあるマットな光沢感、ソフトな風合い、ドレープ感が特徴の生地です。
このスカジャンには当時の素材感を再現したアセテートサテンが使用されています。生地には、織りムラ、シワ感などのビンテージ感が再現されています。これらのスカジャンの経年変化の魅力を再現して、ご購入時からヴィンテージさながらの風合いを楽しむことができるスカジャンに仕上げられています。
中綿は詰められていませんので、モコモコ感がなく、すっきりとした着用感になります。また、薄手のライトアウターですので、春先から秋口まで軽く羽織れ、年間を通して、幅広く着用できます。
袖は配色切替されたラグランスリーブです。肩に縫い目が入る「セットインスリーブ」に対して、襟ぐりから袖下に斜めに縫い目が入った袖で、腕を動かしやすいとされています。リバーシブル表側の袖にはロープ状のパイピングが配されています。
衿と袖口と裾は、アクリル100%のダブルレイヤー(二重)のライン入りのリブ生地で切り替えられています。
フロントはジップアップでの開閉式です。ファスナーの引手には東洋エンタープライズオリジナルの引手が使用されています。
リバーシブル表側・裏側ともにウエスト部には、三角形の補強生地が付いた配色切替両玉縁ポケットが設けられています。
刺繍は貴重なヴィンテージをもとに当時の横振り刺繍ならではの迫力のある厚み・刺繍部分の柔らかさ・刺繍のたわみまでもが再現されています。

This sukajan jacket is produced by Tailor Toyo from Toyo Enterprises and made in China. The Tailor Toyo label a division of Toyo Enterprise in Japan is famous around the world for its expertly-crafted authentic Japanese souvenir jackets. Starting out in the 1940s as Kosho & Co an import and export business for clothing fabric Toyo Enterprises was founded in 1965 at Tokyo where it still has it"s HQ today. The pattern construction of this jacket is modeled after iconic vintage sukajan jackets (Japanese souvenir jackets) from late 1940s to early 1950s with classic design but this sukajang jacket has been re-designed with the Tailor Toyo"s brand own detailing contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Tailor Toyo. The fabric of this jacket is made up of 2 layers. The fabric of this jacket is made up of 2 layers. This jacket is constructed from a 100% acetate satin outer shell and lining shell. And this jacket is fully reversible with embroidery on front and reverse side. It features fully reversible frontal zip closure raglan sleeves striped knit ribbed sleeve ends and collar and waistband. And the graphic on this jacket is based on the dragon head and japan map which graphics are reproduction that once existed. And the fabric sewing zip and embroidery techniques of this jacket have been recreated exactly in the same way as in late 1940s - early 1950s to resurrect the vintage look and feel. So this jacket is brand new but has been processed to give it a fashionable faded vintage feel.

This jacket is constructed from a 100% acetate satin outer shell and lining shell. This jacket is brand new but has been processed to give it a fashionable faded vintage feel. The fabric is produced with minimal tension and this satin offers a unique flowing drape silky hand and subtle luster with a sophisticated wrinkles on the face of the fabric. Satin is a weave that has a glossy face and a soft slippery texture. The satin fabric with sophisticated wrinkles and runs caused by pulls or snags gives it a true vintage feel. It is smooth and sleek so you can take the jacket off and put it on easily.
Interlining (Type of insulation) : Unlined. Lightweight outerwear. The jacket is not bulky or puffy. And this light piece of outerwear can be worn year-round especially in spring and fall.
